oh, oh spaghetio!

Peace be with you السلام عليكم

so i have been loosing weight and although I noticed that I weigh less on the scale my belly isn't getting any smaller. It's not a huge belly or anything but I just noticed that there was more of it so I turned to the hubs to ask his opinion. He looked suspicios and thought it was a set up. After giving him the "you are darned if you do and darned if you don't" look he complied and agreed.

SO what I think I have been loosing has been BAD weight. Meaning that I had lost MUSCLE weight instead of fat. crapiola! I need to start exercising. I know I have been saying it for quite some time but I want to get healthy not just loose weight.

Belly weight is apparently insulin resistant, which means that diet alone won't make it disappear :( InshaAllah you can get a good workout going!

asalamo alaykom tuttie,
yes i remember before that i lost about 20 or 25 pounds in two months but i wasnt getting any thinner and all i was doing was eating way less,
thats not going to help i also started feeling more tired and weaker most of the time, so i suggest exercising...
it is the best way if not the only to lose weight permanently. where i live there isn't any gym i can go to that doesn't have men in it, so i use the elliptical we have here at home...... just see what works for u, even walking around your neighborhood will help.....

the important thing is consistency too. So its better to work out consistently for 20min a day than to work out for an hr. one day then take 3 days off in a row. I try to take a 2 mile jog/walk with Layla on the nice days, then mix it up with pilates style indoor work on the off days, but its usually only 20min to 1/2 hr a day.
